Keeping in contact with your personal injury compensation solicitor
0 questions have been answered below, why not ask your own?
A question that is impossible to answer is ‘how long will my claim take‘. There are so many variables in all cases and therefore, your solicitor will often have to wait (sometimes for 3 months or more) for 3rd party insurers to reply to their correspondence. Therefore, there are often long periods where your solicitor will have no updates for you.
Whilst every claimant should expect their solicitor, and us, to keep them updated where appropriate, you, the claimant, should remember that you can contact us or your solicitor at any time to discuss your claim.
Keep your contact details up to date
One issue that causes a real problem for your solicitor is when they cannot make contact with you. Claimants must remember that they need to ensure that the contact details we/the solicitor hold for them are updated. If you change your telephone number, move house, go away for a while, please remember to keep us informed. Believe it or not, we have had clients lose out on compensation that has been offered by 3rd parties when neither we or the solicitor can make contact with the client to get them to confirm whether or not they accept the offer!
Don’t let this be you! We always make every effort to track down ‘AWOL’ clients; we write, call, email, facebook, send agents and knock doors to track people down, but with the best will in the world, sometimes if people move or change telephone numbers and don’t tell us or the solicitor, their claim may fail for no reason other than we can no longer make contact with them.
It’s vitally important to keep your contact details up to date, so apart from signing your CFA paperwork, attending a medical and making sure we can contact you, the process of claiming really is hassle free!
